International Train

If this is Brussels, it must be Monday. And so it was. We flew into Schipol, hopped on the train for Amsterdam, then took another train to Brussels. The ride was about two and a half hours. The train ride was uneventful, although we found out later that we could have taken a train directly from Schipol to Brussels. Next time, we'll know.

We had a reservation at the Hotel Queen Anne, but it was having some kind of problem, so it couldn't accommodate us. We were transferred to the Hotel Dome, which was a cozy, architecturally interesting building. I think that Europeans may expect less of their hotel rooms than Americans. Toilet paper has the quality of very fine sandpaper (note to self, pack some the next time...), and the building heat was still on, and could not be adjusted. But hey, if nothing else, travel is a splendid adventure.
