October 3Well, today is our last full day in Sitges and in Spain. We've had quite a wonderful vacation. I recommend the Hotel Calipolis' breakfast buffet. It's a big spread and will have something for everyone. Two outstanding items were the minature breakfast sausage and the sauteed sweet peppers. The sausages look like bright red Vienna sausages, but have a firm, dry texture and a spicy, mouthwatering taste. The sautéed sweet peppers are sweet red and green peppers sautéed in olive oil. Of course, there are the preserved meats, varieties of fruit, bread and pastries, potato tortillas, juices, coffee, and cereal. If you don't see something, ask for it. After breakfast, we headed off to the beach. It was a windy day, so we had a surf. I had a great time amid the waves. I also like to just lay and soak up the sun, and today was a perfect day for it with a brilliant sky, a light breeze, and temperatures in the high 70s. We had lunch at the Mont Roig café. Ron had a chicken and mango salad. I had crab meat on what looked like pita bread, which had a waffle pattern. I've seen that before. The sandwich was very good. From the café we went to the train station to pick up schedules so that we could figure out how to get back to the Airport, then a walk through Sitges back to the hotel. While Ron rested, I went to the Sauna Sitges. If you're a horny gay man, or you'd like to see horny gay men, I recommend it. It's very clean and friendly. It is small, but well designed. It also has lube and condoms available, although you may want to take your own. I went in the afternoon, and it wasn't very busy, but I was told by another customer that it really heats up in the evening. Its hours in the off-season are 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day of the week. I had a relaxing and fun afternoon. When I got back to the hotel, Ron was laying down and told me that he had hurt his back. I gave him a muscle relaxant, and he has some Ibuprofen, so I'm hoping he'll feel better. We went to dinner across the street at Pizzeria Marzoni. It serves specialty pizzas. We had a very nice meal; Ron had a vegetarian pie and I had prosciutto. I've eaten better pizza, but it was a nice change of pace from what we've been eating. After dinner, we returned to the hotel to finish packing and get ready to return home tomorrow. Tomorrow, I'll reveal my top traveled tips. |
